Bed Wetter!

Zelda is on a mission. She is on a mission to pee on Steve’s side of the bed at every opportunity she is presented with. I don’t know why she does this. She’s not peeing on my side, and has maybe only done this once when we’ve actually been home. Is she trying to tell Steve that the other half of the bed is now hers? Is she confused about her own potty etiquette???
The dogs do enjoy a good pee on the living room rug. I decided last night to remove it completely, since neither Steve nor I want to actually lay down anywhere near it. I think I’m just going to get a really cheap Ikea rug for the meantime, in case either of the pugs wants to use the new one as a toilet.
Has anyone else effectively solved a bed peeing problem with their dog???

Suki peed on my bed last night for the 1st time and I was appalled! She actually peed on the foot of the bed, so it wasn’t soaked into my side of the mattress or anything, but still gross.

I don’t know why they do that. It’s such a weird spot to pick. She likes the rug, too, but only if I’m not watching her cuz usually she runs to the door to tell me when she has to go. I imagine it’s a lot harder with 2 puppies!

Winston used to pee on the rug, but he has since stopped since I managed to train him to go in a dog litter box. Zelda is always crapping or peeing somewhere silly! I think this is how Winston has maintained his position as “lead pug” in the house, since he’s not a covert pooper or peeper!

Miko is the same frickin’ way. She’s the problem peer out of the two and it drives us crazy. I still expect her to pee on the bed (especially now that we got a new mattress and duvet!)

I wouldn’t know what to suggest – but if I ever come up with a solution, I will be sure to share it!

PS – I heard white vinager is a good natural pee/pet odour eliminator (for rugs and stuff).

The first and only time my dog pee’d on my bed I caught her mid-stream. I was so shocked and afraid it was going to leak into my featherbed that I yelled (fairly loud) and shamed her something fierce. I’m sure this is definately NOT the way to train a dog but she certainly hasn’t pee’d anywhere in the house since.
Call it tough love if you will but I like it when she drops her kids off at the outdoor pool.

Giggs isn’t allowed on the bed. The very first time he got up there he peed on it. Here I was trying to removed the duvet cover before the pee leaked through to the duvet. Yah, it was interesting, and it didn’t work. That was an expensive dry cleaning bill.

Man, I hear that, I learned that you can actually stuff a duvet in the washer and dryer, as long as the duvet has stitching to keep the feathers in place.
Also if you put tennis balls in the dryer with it, it will keep the feathers from bunching.

Our new one has the stitching so I will definitely do that.

The old one didn’t 😦 I hated having to shake the stupid feathers back into place all the time cuz they’d always migrate to the edges. Hmmm… goose feathers. Still migrating? lol
